In the twenty years I’ve been involved with the charity I’ve seen many changes.  Thanks to FSID’s tireless campaigning and the research it funds, the number of babies dying suddenly and unexpectedly is a fraction of what it was back then. It is estimated that 20,000 lives may have been saved as a result of the health advice we have been promoting since 1991.

But sudden infant death still claims the lives of 500 babies every year in the UK - more than meningitis, all forms of cancer and accidents put together.  So there is still much to be done.  With your support we will continue our lifesaving work, so that every single one of the 600,000 babies born every year in the UK is given the chance of a lifetime.”
